Opposite the Steiff Museum are the remains of the former Giengens Castle. It was canceled at the end of the 14th century and was probably of Hohenstaufen origin.

Cycling
A medieval castle, to which an expanding settlement belonged, once stood on the broad rocky outcrop. The imperial city's festival grounds were located on the open space. The great city fire broke out on September 5, 1634, on the Tanzlaube (Tanzlaube). Today, only the towering, widely visible western outer wall remains as a reminder of the former castle. The bulging ashlars indicate its Hohenstaufen origins, dating from the late 14th century. The citizens incorporated this section of wall into the new city fortifications. A beautiful vantage point over the Brenz Valley is located on the former castle wall.
