The ruins of the blast furnace plant in Bobrza were part of Stanisław Staszic's plan to industrialise the Kingdom of Poland, the plant was to house five furnaces with an unprecedented height of about 18 m. The entire plant was surrounded by a gigantic retaining wall 500 m long and 5 m wide at its thickest point. The construction of the plant was never completed, it was interrupted, among others, by the November Uprising of 1830.
