It is also called the "old town in the mountains" and is known as a winter sports resort. Radstadt is located at 858 m above sea level in the Pongau and is the center of the Ennspongau. The municipal area is 60.84 km². The municipality belonged to the judicial district of Radstadt until 2004 and has been part of the judicial district of Sankt Johann im Pongau since January 1, 2005.
