Tips
The entire tour is very interesting in terms of military history, as heavy fighting between British-Canadian troops and the Wehrmacht took place here in March 1945. The notorious so-called Hochwald Gap, the breakthrough through the high forest between Uedemerbruch and Labbeck. The Allies suffered heavy losses here, as is commemorated by a commemorative plaque on the railway underpass in Uedemerbruch. This can be reached via a path from the former station.
