Hiking

The Levada do Caniço hiking trail leads you almost level along an irrigation canal above the south coast, past gardens, terraces, and small houses. Views of Caniço, the coast, and the Atlantic Ocean open up again and again, while you stroll through shady sections of forest. The easily walkable, but occasionally narrow, path is ideal for a leisurely walk with sea views and requires only a little attention at a few unsecured sections.
