Waldram, a relatively young settlement, surprises with its tangible history. Originally, the small terraced houses served the workers and slave laborers of the nearby Nazi arms factory. After the war, the Americans turned it into one of the largest reception camps for Jews who wanted to leave Europe for Palestine or North America. From the mid-1950s, displaced persons moved in from the former eastern regions of the broken German Reich. If you want to know more about this exciting settlement, you should definitely visit this small but very fine, interactive museum and then stroll through the streets of the settlement.
