This curious rock mass, about ten meters high, is made up of two enormous blocks of sandstone, one of which rests on the other. Although it reminds one of a dolmen, its layout probably has a natural origin, like the rocky masses that can be found in the forest of Fontainebleau and as the ridge of the rock that emerges just next to it suggests. .
Popular legend has it that these pebbles fell from the Gargantua hood, but the most logical explanation is that of an ancient hillock, the sand of which has disappeared under the influence of erosion.
