This source is mentioned as early as the 12th century, and in the 16th century it is considered a mineral spring. On the instructions of the Ascher manufacturer Gustav Geipel, the spring was tested in 1879 and consequently a wooden altar was erected. In 1930 it was converted into a brick pavilion. He stands here until today.
According to local legend, the spring has a beneficial effect on longevity and potency. It is also recommended for muscle rheumatism, metabolic disorders and gout. With its composition it is similar to the springs, which are located in the spa town of Bad Brambach.Source: erzgebirge.krusnohorci.net/ausflugstipps/676-die-mineralwasserquelle-in-niederreuth
