The Júcar-Turia Transfer Canal runs through the municipalities of Tous, Alzira, Guadassuar, Alcúdia, Benimodo, Carlet, Alfarb, Alginet, Benifaió, Picassent, Torrent, Aldaia, Quart de Poblet and Manises. It has an approximate length of 60 kilometers between the Tous reservoir of the Júcar river and the water treatment plant of the river Turia "La Presa", in Manises (the oldest plant in Europe).
In addition to supplying drinking water to Valencia, the canal also irrigates around 25,000 hectares of crops.
