Els Pinets Natural Area

The importance of the Els Pinets natural setting lies in its natural richness, surrounded by trees of various types and, in addition, it now has a wide variety of recreational elements.
Historically, the place of Els Pinets has been a place very visited by the residents of Carlet, especially at Easter and during the holidays.
In this enclosure are the old drinking water tanks. This building, which dates from 1927, was installed on the left bank of the river Sec and has been in operation until 1989. These are two semi-underground twin deposits, with Arabic decoration, among which there is a key room. The purpose of this central enclosure was to store the keys to the floodgates and the equipment needed to distribute the water.
The tanks are circular and covered by 18-gallon walled vaulted vaults. In the drum each of the gallons consists of two horseshoe arches.
