Bardon Hill Quarry is approx an 144-acre geological Site of Special Scientific Interest.

This quarry has been in operation for over 400 years and produces an impressive three million tonnes of rock a year. Quarrying exposes rocks from a Precambrian volcano.
There are veins of quartz containing copper and gold, but no public access for potential prospectors.
