This is the local mountain of Porto Azzurro, the Monte Mar di Capanna, also called Monte della Croce, 292 m above sea level.
Not to be confused with Monte Capanne, 1009 m, Elba's highest mountain, which can be reached by cable car from Marciana.

Monte Capanne is the highest peak to be climbed on Elba, but the alternative to the strenuous climb is the cable car in which you can ride in small two-person cages. The ascent costs 12 euros for adults included. Descent 18 euros. If you decide to take the train, you should be there early, otherwise the waiting time can be long.
The ascent takes approximately 25 minutes.
The descent is rockier in the upper part. Below there are great hiking trails into the valley. These are well signposted so it's hard to get lost. The tip would be to walk back to the gondola car park via Marcianna. The tour then goes about 9 km. And can be done in 2.5 hours for experienced people.
The place then offers very nice restaurants to stop off at.
