Within the grounds of St Michael and All Angels Church is the grave of Little John, the ironically-named giant among Robin Hood’s band of merry men. While the story of Robin Hood is folkloric and somewhat dubious, the grave in Hathersage lends some credence to the story and many people come here to pay their respects.

St Michael’s itself is also worth exploring. The Grade I-listed church dates to the 14th century and has lots of interesting statues, monuments and religious artefacts inside.
