    It is an old tradition that you do not overstrain the Rennsteig without being stressed, but complain with a rock. Of course, not with any stone, but with one that you fish from Saale or Werra and flops at the destination in the other river. For what? It's good for karma. And you can easily control your training effect, depending on the size of the stone. Joking aside. It's just tradition, everyone does that. So grab a rock and off you go;)

    Incidentally, here is not just the start or the end of the Rennsteig. The Selbitz once formed the border between West and East Germany.
