The Viktor Wolf von Glanvell Hütte was built in 1905 by the Vienna section of the ÖTK. Hugo Kunze, also an ÖTK member, was the first tenant of the hut who also built the short, crisp via ferrata from the Travenanzes valley to the Fontana Negra. It enables the Fontana Negra Kar to be reached in a very short time. Just 10 years later, the pretty refuge was shot at and destroyed by the Italian artillery. Unfortunately, it was no longer built and today you can only see the stone foundations.
