Saint Lothar I (* 795, † September 29, 855 in Prüm Abbey, Prüm) was King of Bavaria from 814 to 817, Roman emperor from 817/823 to 855 (until 840 as co-emperor), from 822 to 855 (sub -) King of Italy (King of the Lombards) and from 843 to 855 king of the Frankish Lotharii Regnum ("Middle Kingdom").
After his abdication, Emperor Lothar I settled in Prüm and died on 29 September 855 in Prüm Abbey.
