The water house near Climbach was built in 1908 and pumped spring water into the Climbach water tower until 1954. Surface water was used to drive the pumps. After it was closed, it was forgotten and was only rediscovered and restored in 2015. It is a listed building.

The water from the well in front of the water house is drinkable.

The way to the water house is sometimes more of a beaten path. It is better to walk the last few meters from the sign "Footpath to the water house from 1908".

A very nicely restored old water house / pumping station.
Those who have taken the somewhat arduous path will find benches to rest here.

In 1943/1944, the Sieg-Lahn mining company had dug a tunnel into the hilly area between Homberg and Pfarrwald. The plan was to mine the fine-layered coal deposited there, also known as layered coal, and extract oil for fuel from it on site by distillation. The planned production was about to begin when American bombers dropped their cargo on Christmas Day 1944. The mine site was missed, but work was also stopped. After the war, the tunnel entrance was filled in and existing facilities demolished.
