The Krupphütte was closed at this point in 1993 - and only five years later, one of the most ambitious structural change projects in North Rhine-Westphalia opened: logport I.

As the huge and well-connected logistics center of the Dusiburger Hafen, it forms today together with the later opened L
logport II and logport III the backbone of duisport. Containers, goods, cars - everything is handled here and transported from there to its destination.

Tens of thousands of containers are stacked up in the Duisburg port area. Duisburg is the largest inland port in Europe. 130 million tons of goods are handled here every year. In the meantime, more and more Chinese characters are mixed in with the containers.

Duisburg is the end point of a 10,000 kilometer long railway line that begins in Chongqing in China. The train needs about twelve days for the route; for comparison: a ship is on the road for about 40 days.

These are impressive numbers and a stunning impression.
