Bonn-Matreier Hut

The modern mountain hut is located directly on the Tyrolean Eagle Trail and the Venediger High Trail. From the terrace, you have panoramic views of the Schober Group, the Lienz Dolomites, and, on a clear day, even the South Tyrolean Dolomites.The Alpine Club hut offers sleeping accommodations for around 45 hikers and mountaineers. One of the most beautiful and highest-altitude AV huts in East Tyrol. The BMH is located on the Venediger Höhenweg between the Badener Hütte and the Eisseehütte. To the south, the Lienz valley floor opens up. On a clear day, the view extends all the way to the Julian Alps and Mount Triglav in Slovenia.

Great panoramic view. If you want to do a round trip, we recommend the ascent via the small Nile valley and the descent via the large Nile valley.
