Bicycle tours to the Palinger Heide are possible from Palingen, Herrnburg and Lauen. Bridges over the Landgraben create connections to the city of Lübeck. The Landgraben is the border between the states of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Schleswig-Holstein, formerly a border area, today a green belt. The best time for colorful views is when the heather blossoms in early August.
