Where the Marienwerder Science Park is today, there were fields in the 1970s and 1980s. Nothing suggested what was going on here during the Nazi years. At some point the site was converted and today there is a pretty nice park between the office and research buildings. Unfortunately, there used to be a concentration camp and a forced labor camp here, which was used as a refugee camp for a long time after the war. Information boards were set up in two places in the park to remind people of the atrocities that had taken place. There are also some foundations of the forced labor camp buildings. A factory is currently being built on the site where most of this was located.
