A nice place to take a break and delve into history.

Since 1990, there has been a group of sculptures by René Auer to the south of the Durlach station building, depicting the central scene from the song Auf d’r Schwäb’sche Eisebahne*: »A Bock håt är sich kaofet; and that he doesn't get lost, the good Må bends him to da hentersta Waga nå.« The sculptures are supplemented by a narrow-gauge train that has no historical connection with the standard-gauge trains that run here. The locomotive of this ensemble was restored in 2010. The monument is maintained by the Durlesbach-Bähnle e.V.-Reute association with the support of the town of Bad Waldsee. This association has since added a platform canopy.

*Hardly any other German folk song is as well known as the song "Auf d'r Schwäb'sche Eisebahne". It has been intoned thousands of times at regulars' tables, it has been circulated hundreds of times and accompanied by new lyrics with up to 27 stanzas.

    “Trulla, trulla, trulla

    Trulla, trulla, trulla

    Stuegert, Ulm and Biberach

    Meckebeure, Durlesbach…”

is the chorus, but few know where Durlesbach is.

From the train station it is a gravel path, not recommended with a racing bike. Very beautiful landscape, lonely in the valley. Only the railway line running next to it disturbs the idyll.

On the Schwäb'schen Eisenbahn it is said so beautifully ... and at the Durlesbach train station a memorial was erected to the song and the railway. A restored steam engine and figures from a scene from everyday life at the station are shown here.
