Karl Schmidt-Rottluff (born December 1, 1884 in Rottluff (today a district of Chemnitz), † August 10, 1976 in Berlin; actually Karl Schmidt) was a German painter, graphic artist and sculptor. He is considered a modern classic and one of the most important representatives of Expressionism.
Its protection as a natural monument goes back to the fact that the painter Karl Schmidt-Rottluff (1884–1976) captured it expressionistically in 1956 - during one of his summer stays in Sierksdorf - in the picture Seehofallee in Sierksdorf, which made it famous.
