If you come from Niederpleis Castle and have crossed the A3 on the bridge, there is an ascent to the refuge in the Geistinger Wald, where a little break should be announced. The ascent on a gravel forest path is more suitable for mountain bikes than for trekking bikes. The descent towards Geistingen requires a little attention, as the path is very sandy in places and the sand makes it difficult to steer.
