Don’t forget the stepping stones over the beautiful River Hodder beneath The Inn @ Whitewell 👍
Nowadays, the stepping stones are historic way to cross the River Hodder in front of the Inn at Whitewell.
Historically, they were enabling residents on the opposite bank to access the Swainmote court and the church.
⚠️ It's essential to exercise caution when planning to use the stepping stones, especially after heavy rainfall, as the river's water levels can rise, making the stones slippery or submerged. Always assess the river conditions before crossing, and if uncertain, consider alternative routes such as nearby bridges.
