The little hamlet of Pencelli is a delightful and charming place. You will find a lot of canal barges moored here, as it is a prime stopping point due to the fact that the ‘The Royal Oak’ pub brings people in from miles around. There is also a turning point here for the canal barges, and this makes it a popular get in & out point for kayakers and paddle boarders. It is simply a charming place to stop for a while, have a drink or a coffee, and watch the world go by!

The small village of Pencelli is superbly located for exploring the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. It's situated in the Usk Valley, on the historic Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, while the Central Beacons massif — including the iconic Pen y Fan — is within walking distance to the south west.

There are a number of amenities in the village. Plas Pencelli is an outdoor activities centre specialising in school, college and youth centre education. There's also the Royal Oak, which serves great pub food. Accommodation wise, as well as private rentals, there is also a caravan and camping park.
