Around 1700, the members of the Maria Consolation Brotherhood brought back a copy of the Hermit image of the Black Madonna authorized by the monastery from a pilgrimage to Einsiedeln. For this purpose, the Maria Consolation Chapel was built next to the church in 1762 as an exact replica of the Hermit Chapel of Mercy. The pilgrimage chapel is a small, intimate room well suited for smaller groups; large groups of pilgrims usually use the large parish church next to it for their services.
