Farmhouse located on an isolated plateau in the woods between Valdarno and Chianti and famous because the Cavicchi family, peasant sharecroppers, lived here since 1939; since October 1943, after the fall of fascism, they decide to support the resistance, first by hosting a small group of 12 men commanded by the partisan Gino Garavaglia, then, over the months, their commitment grows, coming to shelter up to a hundred people: Pian d'Albero becomes one of the bases of the XXII bis Garibaldi Brigade "Sinigaglia".
On June 20, 1944, 39 people were surprised by a group of German paratroopers, including twelve-year-old Aronne Cavicchi, who was killed along with his father and grandfather.
