Station 3 of the Biblical Partenheim Wine Trail
In 2006 Partenheim celebrated its 1250th anniversary and is therefore one of the oldest villages in Rheinhessen. The St. Peter Church in Partenheim is the oldest church in our region after the Katharinenkirche in Oppenheim. With its venerable old castle of Wallbrunn, the place is one of the most interesting villages in the area! Partenheim is also located on the northernmost edge of the Verbandsgemeinde Wörrstadt. Thus, the Partenheim district has a direct connection to the VG Nieder-Olm, VG Sprendlingen and the VG Gau-Algesheim. With this positioning at the apex of the four association communities, we want to stimulate wine tourism in Partenheim and the adjacent association communities, especially the VG Wörrstadt. We also want to highlight the tourist attractions of the village of Partenheim even more. That is why the paved land consolidation path past the Bergs Häuschen to the Himmelbergshäuschen was designated as a biblical wine trail.

In Partenheim, a typical Rheinhessen wine town, both winegrowing and the church have always played an important role. The wine trail is intended to document the connection between wine and the Bible, as well as the community and winemakers.

The 6.5 km long loop starts at the car park near the cemetery. There we cross the road and cross the Sommerberg, from which we can get our first beautiful view of the route ahead of us. After crossing the valley, we go uphill again a bit before turning left and following the path parallel to the slope.

      Information boards
As we continue, we later come across the first of the current 9 information boards*. On these signs in the form of an open book, you can read Bible passages that relate to the topic of vines, wine, winemakers and nature. The signs are attractively decorated with watercolors by Doris Dreis.
