Two visionaries looked into the crystal ball in 2006. Due to the rise in sea level, Nartum will be a northern German port city in many decades. From this crazy idea, the Nartumer Hafenverein and finally today's "port facilities" arose. Port birthdays are of course celebrated appropriately.
