It was built after the residents of the area wanted a church in the western part of the municipality at the end of the 19th century.
The church was consecrated in January 1902 and had 100 seats.
The church's altarpiece today depicts Jesus' entry into Jerusalem.
The painting is by Professor Kræsten Iversen and came to the church in 1972.
It is a preliminary study for a glass mosaic in the Risskov Church.
