The Evangelical Reformed Church of Greetsiel was completed in 1401 after 30 years of construction. It was consecrated to St Mary until the Reformation and belonged to the diocese of Münster. As an elongated single-nave hall church built from bricks, it is a typical Frisian church from the 14th century.
As a roof turret, it bears the oldest ship weather vane in Lower Saxony from the 17th century.

Beautiful old church, which gives information about the rich culture in the north. In addition, the church is also worthwhile for inner retreat.

Today it presents itself as a Reformed preaching church with the pulpit in the center as the place of the Annunciation, otherwise simply without an altar or pictures according to the 2nd commandment: "You should not make yourself a portrait or any parable. Every Sunday at 10.15 a.m., the congregation of locals and holidaymakers gathers for worship.
The church is open for tours daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from May to October.

The church was built between 1380 and 1410 by order of Chief Haro Edzardana. The gilded copper weather vane is said to date from 1730.

I have been there for the first time in 22 years. If I remember correctly, within this church even a scene from the crime scene thriller played out.
