A well-maintained parking lot, previously free of charge, operated by the municipality of La Val - Wengen. Now, in 2025, it will cost €7.

The parking lot is accessible via a fairly narrow, winding, but well-paved and secured road. But then comes its own challenge: The fee (7 euros per day) can only be paid online via a QR code. If you're lucky and have an internet connection, you apparently can't pay the fee as a foreigner, because when you enter the mandatory license plate number (also in variations, e.g., with a hyphen between the place and the letter), you get the message "License plate not valid," and therefore cannot proceed.
A local passing by advised us to park there anyway, which apparently worked out well.

I can confirm what Hannes wrote. The process is impractical, especially because not everyone has a smartphone with them, perhaps deliberately because they want to take a break from their phones. My network was too weak to complete the payment process. I left my car and walked. Near the André Hütte, I had network coverage again, and I was able to complete the transaction. So don't let it drive you crazy; leave the car and try again later.
