At the end of the 13th century, the north wing was built as the first part of today's castle. The castle gave way to the castle bit by bit. During the Peasants' War in 1525, one of the two bower was burned down and the other was severely damaged. In the same year, Berthold von Redwitz rebuilt the castle. The southern building was erected at the beginning of the 17th century.
