The UL is located on the River Shannon and is just 5 km from the center of Limerick.
Founded in 1972 as the National Institute for Higher Education, Limerick. Since 1989 status as university. The campus is worth a visit, is designed as a small town. You can see old and new buildings, exciting and imaginatively designed recreational areas, a small shopping center. And of course a lot of bubbly student life.
