    Hiking

At the site (Sindelfinger Straße 37) where our St. Lawrence Church stands today, the Alemanni established a settlement. It was probably these Alemanni who built the first church in what was then known as "Mouchingen" more than 1,000 years ago. Initially, it was a small, towerless rural church consisting of a nave and a choir loft.

A tower was later built over this choir loft. The mighty tower and a remnant of the fortress-like churchyard wall suggest that St. Lawrence Church was a fortified church that served as a place of refuge for the local population.
