Baelo Claudia was founded by the Romans in the 2nd century BC. The Roman buildings of Baelo Claudia are relatively well preserved. The Baelo Claudia Museum (Centro de Visitantes) offers interested visitors further information, a tour of the excavation site is possible every day - except Mondays. If you want to take a closer look at these very impressive excavations, you have to go through the museum. There is no entrance from the beach, but you can still see a lot.
