Steep tarmac initially, then the rest more mellow hardpack gravel (apart from a few hundred metres in the middle where it gets a bit grassy). Perfect gravel bike terrain.

I agree this is fantastic route. Best to ride after a dry spell. The grass section can get very boggy after rain.

We have now cycled this both ways. It really is a spectacular route. Steep in coming from loch tay, but absolutely worth the effort. It is remote, so be prepared 👌🏽
