The starting shot for the mini zoo was given in the early 1970s: the Hattersheim entrepreneur Willi Kümmel set up a duck pond on the municipal property on Glockenwiesenweg. Little by little, other breeds were added, including more exotic animals such as pot-bellied pigs or emus. They had to move out again in 1998 due to an EU regulation.
