Near the Castle Bridge begins Schloßstraße, which leads into the city center. Schloßstraße follows the course of the historic Klenower Dorfstraße and thus has a slightly angled shape compared to Schlossplatz.

The charming, two-story houses were designed by court architect Busch and exude a uniform eaves. The four detached houses in each block are separated from each other by so-called "Tüschen" (courtyard entrances). Of particular note are the four square-like widenings, enlivened by detached houses and special uses.

The streetscape is characterized by bold red, unplastered brick buildings with Dutch style elements. Come by and discover this unique district!

The Schlossbrücke marks the beginning of Schloßstraße, from here you can comfortably get into the city center.

The Schloßstraße follows the former Klenower Dorfstraße. For this reason, it does not run at right angles to Schlossplatz, but just a little angled. In order not to compete with the palace, Hofbaumeister Busch designed the houses as two-storey throughout. In doing so, he attached great importance to a uniform development on the eaves, which combined four individual houses each. These blocks, in turn, are separated from one another by a free space, so-called "tüschen", as courtyard entrances. A special feature are the four square-like expansions with individual houses and special uses. The street scene is characterized by strong red, exposed brick buildings with Dutch style elements.

The redesign of Schloßstraße, which was lined with lime trees on both sides, was carried out in 1994 and was subject to the special requirements of monument protection. The baroque street space with the paved road and the bridle paths and footpaths on both sides have been preserved.
