Kassiopi is located on the northeast coast of the island, 36 km from Corfu Town. The city was already an important settlement in Roman times. It had a famous theater with such famous guests as Emperor Nero himself! It is said to have been named after Zeus for his famous temple dedicated to Cassias.

While visiting Kassiopi, it is also worth visiting the ruins of the castle rising above the harbor. The fortress, built in the Anjou era, was one of the strongest castles of its age on the island.

Kassiopi is one of the most beautiful villages on the island. Once upon a time, Emperor Tiberius built a cottage here, but Cicero, Marcus Antonius, and later Casanova also turned around the city, and if you can believe the historians… here, too, he pounded the hearts of the ladies. In the famous theater of Kassiopi, the bloody emperor Nero himself performed his own compositions. The once proud city is now a quiet fishing village.
