Hiking

The Silvestri craters formed after the eruption of 1892. The 2 main parts (superiore and inferiore) are divided by the road, which passes in the middle. This makes them easily accessible, as they are also close to the parking. They are more difficult to reach than "Crateri Silvestri Inferiori" because the Path is steep and, sometimes, slippery. From there you can see the other craters from top.

Hiking

The steep ascent to the rim of the crater becomes a sweaty undertaking on hot days due to the mixture of volcanic ash and lapilli. But the view from the top is worth every effort.
