At the beginning of the Klammweg there is a rusty dragon's tail and two stones that refer to the legend of the Kundler Gorge.

According to that legend, "The Wildschönau" was once a lake in which a terrible dragon lived.

A trick allowed a farmer to stab the dragon.

In its death throes, the dragon struck the rocks with its tail so hard that it cracked, causing the gorge to open and the water of the lake to flow away.

    ----------------------

If you look at the mighty dolomite rock, which towers gigantically on both sides and is estimated to be about 235 million years old, this must have been an enormous dragon! :-)
