East of Neustadt between Pelzerhaken and Rettin lies a coastal landscape with a special charm. The area is recognizable from afar by a currently unused listening tower (reconnaissance tower of the German armed forces). The fact that this is a protected area according to the European Fauna-Flora-Habitat Directive (FFH area) can be seen from the signs with the owl that have been put up there.
This beach landscape begins with a former cliff of the Baltic Sea, which is naturally wooded (Scharwald). In front of this is a beach wall level used as grassland and close to the groundwater. This is followed by the coastline with dunes, a promenade and a beach used by tourists.

great hiking trail, both on the beach and above, the beach path is nicer in my opinion, but also a bit more complicated to walk, depending on the water level, you can definitely get wet feet :-)
