Chapel of St. Sebastian Aislingen
To the east of the town of Aislingen, the Catholic chapel of St. Sebastian rises on a hill in the rare form of a five-sided central building. Bishop Heinrich von Knöringen had it built in 1629/30 on the artificial hill of a former castle stable. A pilgrimage to the chapel began immediately after its inauguration, especially in the event of infectious diseases and epidemics. The pilgrimage came to a standstill in the 1960s. Aislingen's landmark, which is also depicted in a stylized form in the municipal coat of arms, was restored inside and out in 2001. Right next to the chapel there is a panoramic lounger from which you can enjoy a great view of the Danube Valley.
