HOMELAND
The Bergisel is a place that has shaped the identity of Tyrol like no other, that carries the memory of the heroism of our ancestors, of the struggle for home, of victory and defeat. From the Bergisel, however, our grandfathers dared to build a bridge to the south that would eventually overcome the borders of the 20th century.
The homeland, for which we stand up, connects us with our origins, it connects us with places, with people and with faith. Having a home means putting down roots. This is what the sculpture by Aron Demetz tells about.
