"When the Bölles oaks were once planted, nobody knows today, but why the Bölles oaks are called Bölles oaks is well known." The three oaks, always the focal point of the herd of the respective Herdorfer shepherd, were certainly once seed trees and served as a boundary They got their name over a hundred years ago, when the Herdorfer young Peter Trapp, stepson of the Herdorfer shepherd Aloys Mertens, once alone had to supervise the 300 cows and cattle. The young man rode the exuberance and he rushed his dog on the The shepherd dog actually brought quite a few cattle and the Biersdorf bull to the Bölles oaks, but here the two Herdorfer bulls fought a bloody fight with the alleged rival from Biersdorf, into which a number of cattle were also drawn. When Aloys Mertens finally hurried, cattle and bulls were bleeding and exhausted Hedges: Both herds were driven home with difficulty, and contrary to expectations there was no dispute between Herdorf and Biersdorf - as had been the case in 1770. What punishment Peter Trapp had to expect is not known anymore. The mighty oaks are still called the Bölles oaks.
