The lime or witch tower is integrated on the north-east side of the city fortifications. It was built as a fortified tower with battlements and a defensive platform around 1500 together with the town wall.
The »embarrassing interrogations« (torture) of the people denounced as witches took place in the tower. A square opening in the floor is the entrance to the gloomy dungeon
Basement of the witch tower. In the 19th century, whitewashers stored their slaked lime here.

Inconspicuous - but imposing, this small fortification tower. It gives you the chills when you delve into the history of the tower as described above by Herbert P.: Witch Tower.
