Do not pronounce the name in French. Explanation (heard a while ago from the late Godfried Vandemeulebroucke, former mayor of Tiegem and aldermen of Anzegem): Pronounce the name in Flemish! The name comes from "Doo-e Lage" or "Dead Layer". It is known that fruit trees were planted on less fertile soil. The soil was not good enough for arable farming and people spoke of a bad piece of land on which little grew... a doo-e loage. Hence the name!.
