one of the most beautiful underground stations in Berlin in thatched half-timbered building
February 3, 2018
The station was designed by Friedrich and Wilhelm Hennings and built in 1912–1913. Originally, only a small gatehouse was planned as the entrance to the subway. At the request of Kaiser Wilhelm II, the reception building was adapted to the rural character of the Dahlem estate and was built in the style of a North German manor house as a thatched half-timbered house with a flower-decorated forecourt and a picket fence as the boundary of the property.

A really special subway station, which lives up to the name 'Dorf' in its design.
